A Mountain Creek tenant contacted Clarity Pool Services with an urgent problem. Their swimming pool had turned green and a rental inspection was coming up.
The pool needed more than a quick clean. The water required sanitising, the filtration system needed attention and there was a significant amount of debris to remove.

OUTCOMEThe Problem
When Matt arrived, the pool water was green and cloudy, with leaves and other debris throughout the pool.
The skimmer basket was heavily blocked, restricting water flow through the filtration system.
Matt cleaned the skimmer basket, tested the pool water and removed the cartridge filter from its housing so it could be thoroughly cleaned.
Day 1: Treating the water
The first priority was to sanitise the pool and stop the algae growth.
The pool was treated with chlorine, the pH was adjusted and a clarifying treatment was added to help clear the water and bring suspended debris together so it could settle.
The pump was then switched off overnight, allowing the material in the water to settle to the floor of the pool ready for removal.
Day 2: Removing the settled debris
Matt returned the following day.
By then, much of the suspended debris had settled onto the bottom of the pool. Rather than sending it back through the filtration system, Matt manually vacuumed the debris to waste, removing it directly from the pool.
At this stage the water had improved significantly, although it was still slightly cloudy.
Day 3: Clear again
By approximately the third day, the remaining cloudiness had cleared and the pool was once again crystal clear.
The tenant had contacted us worried about an upcoming rental inspection. Within a few days, the pool had gone from green and neglected to clean, clear and presentable again.
